What goes well with cottage cheese?

After going through a supra cervical hysterectomy, I find that my taste in food has changed slightly. The smell of chicken turns my stomach. It was three weeks ago (April 14, 2011) when I had the surgery. Somehow I've developed a taste for cottage cheese. Back Problems?

I've been having back problems these past few days and this has happened a few weeks earlier as well. I feel a pain in my lower back when I bend down. I got this problem when I was playing bball and I turned too fast. Before that I was doing alotta abdomen exercises and weights. I had this problem in the past a few times, once when I visited the doctor she said I'd pulled a muscle. Okay, the details are really vague. What I remember is that it was a village of some sort that was attacked and one guy and a girl, maybe, retaliated with some old weapons. Tips on being confident when getting on a bratty horse?

Lunge him first and just remember to relax and stay confident. Even if you don't think so, act like you know you're in control and YOU ARE THE BOSS. If he seems like he's going to spook then circle or get his feet moving, its a lot harder for them to get silly when they're trying to figure out what you want from them. Be firm with the reins and just keep in control as best as you can and if he does spook and buck and you stay on, kick him and discipline him, make him know that's not okay. If he gets you off, go back to lunging him for a bit, then get your nerves back together and start over. You really have to be consistent and make him respect you and know that nothing he does is going to get him out of work... good luck!

Desperate for advice with 2 year old son & boyfriend's relationship?

I have been dating my boyfriend very seriously now for over 10 months, he professed his love pretty soon into our relationship & it has felt all too right & perfect from the start. Ok so there's this waitress at the local coffee house, i'm 22 and she's 19 y.o. I see her almost every time I go there and ever since I asked her for her name she's very friendly with me, she always greets me with a smile and asks me how I'm doing. I'm always very polite with her and I'm pretty sure there has been some flirting between us. For example once I was with a friend of mine and as we were leaving the coffee house I held the door for her and smiled and she smiled back. She was waiting to cross the road and I couldn't see very well who it was. When I came closer and she saw I was with a gf she turned away and stopped looking, and the next day when I saw her at the cafe she was acting kind of strange, like she was trying to look super-cool and easygoing. Maybe it's my idea but I'm pretty sure she would have at least said "hi" if I wasn't with female company. So the thing is I really like this girl, I think she's really sweet and a nice person, not to mention that I find her very attractive. Does anyone else experience hives in the cold?

I'm 25 and have always gotten hives when exposed to extremely cold weather. But, I lived in California up until now. It gets cold in my hometown, just not THAT cold, so it wasn't a problem. Now, my husband got stationed upstate New York and its been snowing almost everyday. (Something I'm not used to.) He's deployed and I'm responsible for shoveling my walkway and drive-way. I break out in hives EVERY SINGLE TIME. Its very uncomfortable. My ears and finger swell up, turn red and burn really bad before the breakout. Silly question; I know, but I need to know: How does one go about becoming a member of a church?

Family-wise, my paternal grandmother was southern Episcopalian, my maternal grandmother is a non-practicing Church of England Anglican-Protestant (or something like that). My sister is Catholic by marriage but only goes once a year. No one else in my family goes to church and the closest I've come having a religous "experience" inside a church was by default because the town church was also our school bus stop. Those services included a lot of yelling and stomping and I didn't like that, so at least I know that "quiet devotion" is more my speed. Also, is it appropriate to "try-on" different religions? Can anyone recommend some good books on each? I'm single and don't know if it's right for me to enter church without having some established family or friend ociation. I just don't know how to do it. Also, how does one "choose" a religion? Could I go to Temple or "Mosque" if I wanted to? To Saturday night Catholic M on Saturday and one of the Protestant-based services on Sunday to try out? If I've offended the sensibilities of anyone I apologize. I know religion is a deeply personal issue for many; but as for me, I keep saying I'll go but I end up stuck at the door. Swollen lymph in armpit??? please help?

I waxed my mistakenly 3 weeks ago. They cracked and a watery and sometimes yellowish discharge started coming out for few days. At the same time I felt pain in my right underarm. My doctors put me on antibiotics for 7 days. Now my nipple has healed and pain in underarm has gone but i can still feel a small lump (movable) which doesn't hurt but can be felt. Also when i lift something i can feel slight pain/discomfort. I was wondering if my lymph node has swelled up due to infection it should settle by now...i am 28 years, no family history of any cancers...what could it be...please help...

What is the blue discharge coming from my propane hot water tank's vent?

Crud is coming out around the seems of the hot water tank's vent. Some of it is black and gooey which I ume is creosote from from the chimney's previous use. There is also white chalky stuff which appears to be some type of mineral. I put paper toweling on the floor under the vent pipe to catch this stuff and I now see there is a blue ring that formed on the toweling. None of these three things have an odor What are these things coming from and what are they?

What are my chances of getting into graduate school for biochem/biomedical science.?

What are my chances of getting into George Washington University, or any graduate school for that matter. I want to major in biochemistry with a concentration in metabolism. Right now my lack of physical chemistry is preventing me from applying to most programs, and the schools offering it in my state are either much too far for 3 day a week travel or much too expensive (that one course is more than a whole semester at my school!) I spent most of my undergraduate career paying out of pocket (close to $40,000 room and board) before i received a full scholarship, so i am not looking forward to paying more than $3000+ for one cl when tuition alone at my school for 18 credits wasn't even that much. GW doesnt require pchem for the phd program. I have decided that getting a masters first is not a bad idea. I have a 3.5 GPA, graduated c u m laude. I have a year of biochemistry experience, and 6 months of unrelated research experience. Will get great recommendations from my research mentor/biochem/immunology teacher, physics, and seminar professors. I have yet to take the GRE, but my preliminary scores show 600 math and 510 verbal, which I know is on the low side but i am studying hard to get the math score up. I am taking a year off before grad school. What can I do to improve my chances? BTW, I am also applying to howard. I was also thinking of the georgetown masters program that does not require the GRE, but think my GPA may be too low for that program. What would be a good safety school for me?

What can i do differently to lose a few pounds?

I am 18, 5'5", 131 pounds. I have a little extra belly fat that id like to lose before i move to the beach soon. My goal weight is around 120-125. Lately, I try to run 2 miles every morning. (depending on the temperature, sometimes i only can manage 1 mile). After running i usually eat a banana and a granola bar. Then i usually eat a light snack around 3 (like graham crackers or pretzels) and then something like soup and crackers for dinner. All seems to go well and then night comes and i tend to splurge.. I try to keep my calorie intake to around 1300-1500 and i only drink water. Am i doing everything correctly? I dont seem to be getting too much results, i think possibly because of the nightly splurges at like 10 oclock at night before going to bed at 12 or 1. What can i do differently to avoid these night splurges or what are some healhty alternatives? or any other helpful suggestions for what i may be doing wrong or could do better?

How can I improve creative focus?

OK, most on this site concluded I couldn't 'engineer' inspiration in a calculated way, so I'll ask a slightly different question. Are there techniques to increase creative focus. When I get involved and focused I feel beautiful things, I see great things I can creat, but I waste most my time filling my brain with bull that is in no way enriching and is an utter waste of time. Yes you should pop the sparkplug and look inside the hole if possible for metal shavings. Look at the sparkplug and see if there are any metal or aluminum shavings. Grab the crankshaft and turn it. Before you tear down the entire motor mayby you could just pop the head off and take a look inside the cylinder,mayby a valve come loose and locked the motor up. If the motor is actually seized up and you manage to break it loose dont think its alright to run again because most likely your rings are fried and it will destroy you cylinder beyond repair.Most likely the oil changes were neglected and over time the oil collected moisture and slowly wore the motor down till it seized. If you did it yourself you could prob do it for $125. If you had a shop do it 275.00 and a new or good used 12 hp motor $350-400.12 hp briggs should be a dime a dozen "used" so try a junk yard. Seeings its 15 yrs old you may be in the market for a new one ,check out ebay for a new or used one because you could prob find one for a resonable price.All in all it really sucks and if you lived in the same state as me i would loan you mine for a while too keep up the lawn but mine is just the "cheap" hydrostatic drive and not the "true" hydrolic drive. So it prob wouldnt fit in your "standards" of life. But if you are willing to step down to my level and drive a Deer i just may be of some help. Any way good luck ,live well and prosper.

Worried for my niece?

My sister is divorced from her husband and he has a new partner. They have recently announced that she is pregnant and my 9 yr old niece (from his marriage to my sister) is very excited at the thought of a half brother or sister. Literally all she talks about is the pregnancy and the new baby and how she always wanted a brother etc. This is lovely but I am worried about what will happen once this baby is born. My sister's ex has never been a very attentive father and has been known to cancel plans with my niece with only a couple of hours notice, leaving her devastated. He is now saying that he cant take her on holiday in May as planned because his partner is "too tired from the pregnancy to cope with a 9 yr old". They will still be going on holiday together. I have a very bad feeling that once this baby is born he will withdraw from my niece and concentrate on his new family (especially if it is a boy - in the past he has openly expressed his disappointment that my niece is a girl). She is still young and needs more time to be potty trained. Be patient and give her more time and training. This is something that you can't rush. Some puppies need more time. Is this depression?

I've always felt this way, I'm not sure what it is. What I do know is - I'm not happy. I know when I am happy I feel like a boat load of stress has been lifted off of me, and I don't care or worry about things as much as I usually do. I feel cheerful, act noticeably different, and feel alot better about myself. Thing is, this happens very rarely, maybe once a month for an hour or so. To be more clear, you know that feeling you got when in school, 5 minutes before the final bell rang, and it was time for a weekend of relaxation and pure fun? Well that's happy for me. they are wonderful. i have a mastiff and a rhodesian ridgeback. both breeds are great. they have their own separate personalities, both made a great match. the ridgeback is a little hyper, the mastiff is a ..velcro dog. she sticks to me like glue. drool...yeah, a little slime here and there, just keep a rag handy to wipe the mouth after drinking. between the 2 dogs, they get the exercise they need just by doing their thing. we have 1 acre, 3/4 fenced, so they can explore, dig, run the fence { cows in field next to us..a favorite thing }, and patrol. when done, back inside to the couch. good luck, and find a good breeder by looking up mastiff breeders on the net, and then research the possible ones you might pick on the akc.org site, to make sure they are not banned. i got mine from a breeder in minnesota, who was breeding her female to a male in colorado. just make sure the bloodlines and temperaments are good, and expect to pay at least $1,000.00 or more for a good mastiff. no back-yard breeders...they have hip/health issues.

So you can very easily change to a different birth control pill that will hopefully not come with the same mood swings. Talk with your doctor and you can start experimenting. Also, being on birth control pills won't cause you to not be infertile. It treats the symptoms of PCOS but doesn't cure it. And you can't get pregnant while taking the pill, of course. Want to be home-schooled but need help?

I've been to at least six different schools and I'm only entering 9th grade. I absolutely hate school. I don't mind the work, it's just all the distractions. On top of school drama and all that I have all my family drama. This past year in my math cl I got a c and I usually get a majority of a's and some b's. Every time I think of school my stomach hurts and I feel like I'm going to throw up. School stress plus family stress makes me so damn stressed that I've considered suicide. Like it's bad. I honestly can't take it anymore. And some people may get anti-social if they are home-schooled, but my friends are a priority to me so I would definitely not stop talking or hanging out with them. Plus most of them live close to me. But I have a problem. I would like to be a pediatrician or a nurse when I grow up. I'd rather be a pediatrician, but a nurse is my 2nd choice. Would not going to a high school affect my chances of getting into Duke Medical School? I brought up home-schooling to my grandma once before and she vetoed it. She said who would home-school you, but then I found online home-school and I just haven't figured out how to bring it up or when or anything. Please help.

Just had a partial Hystorectomy but now having another pain...?

My question is, should I go ahead and seek a surgeon specialist to see if she thinks that what I have now is appendicitis. My point being that all doctor's offices certainly can do this. However, if you want this extra step, then pay for it yourself. There are labs in most major cities. Don't expect your doctor to say, yeah sure and tack it onto health insurance payouts given that in most cases, it is unnecessary. Boosters were determined by study of THOUSANDS of children to be deemed necessary for most. Otherwise, they would have fewer or none. While I am all for delaying or spreading out vaccinations (I think that is safer and best for the child medically), keep in mind that a lot of the 'research' on the internet is out of date or poorly interpreted or just plain wrong. Some is very clearly an issue, but I have a science degree and can't figure it all out.

Questions about using the post 9/11 GI Bill...?

I am currently using the MGIB to attend school and have been for 2 1/2 years. I realize my MGIB benefits will expire in a little longer than a year and am looking at my options. I was curious if anyone knew if I would be able to use the post 9/11 gi bill. I served in the army active duty from 1999-2005 giving me the three years required after 9/11 for full benefits. However, about the time the post 9/11 gi bill kicks in (aug. 1st, 2009) will be about the time my current MGIB expires. Does anyone know if I will be able to use the post 9/11 gi bill? Ok so it been going on for about maybe three days inside my right ear there is a bump. For an ECG or EKG, how to explain shortening of P wave, Q-T Interval after activity/exercise vs. when resting?

I'm doing an A&P lab, and can't explain why mechanical changes like increased contractility (or the contractile force exhibited by cardiac cells) will shorten distance between deflection waves on an EKG. I thought that I understood, but now I'm finding that when I'm trying to explain, I cannot. I know increased contractility comes from more catecholamines like epinephrine or norepinephrine, but how is the contractility increased by exercise? Why exactly is more blood being pumped out? I get why the QRS complex isn't affected, but how can I explain the mechanical changes?

I've seen people snorkling (on tv) and they have the tube thing that goes in your mouth, and the tube is supposed to stick out of the water so you can breathe.
